Free trees for Hatton residents – apply by 29 October
Would you like to add a tree to your garden?
Hatton residents can now apply for free trees through South Derbyshire District Council’s Free Tree Scheme 2026, run in partnership with the National Forest Company.
Households in South Derbyshire can apply for two free trees, while schools, businesses and community groups based in the district can request up to 10.
This year’s choices are Wild Service Tree, Spindle, Crab Apple and Holly. Planting and care information is available to help you choose a tree that suits your space.
Applications close at 5pm on Thursday 29 October 2026.
Trees will be available to collect from Rosliston Forestry Centre on 28 and 29 November, or from Swadlincote and Melbourne on 1 December. Full collection details are provided on the scheme webpage.
