Notice of Vacancy – Hatton Parish Council (North Ward)
An official Notice of Vacancy has been issued confirming that a casual vacancy has arisen in the office of Parish Councillor for Hatton Parish Council (North Ward).
The statutory process is set out in the official Notice of Vacancy, which can be viewed below.
If, by 7 October 2026, a valid request for an election is made in writing to the Proper Officer by ten electors of Hatton North Ward, an election will be held to fill the vacancy.
If no such request is received by that date, the vacancy will instead be filled by co-option.
At this stage, the Parish Council must wait until the statutory notice period has concluded before it is known whether the vacancy will proceed to an election or be filled through co-option.
If an election is called, it will take place no later than 9 December 2026.
The Notice of Vacancy is dated 17 September 2026 and has been issued by South Derbyshire District Council.
